Microsoft Offering Linux Download? Or is it a sign of desperation?

I have no clue what those managers at Redmond were smoking when they decided to buy the keyword "Linux Download" for their First Look Clinic.

Among the different feedbacks and opinions that I get about this blog, the most pronounced one was that this blog was becoming too much Linux biased. So I did a custom search for "Linux" and what did I get? Microsoft using "Linux Download" as a keyword to promote their products! Now is that an irony?
