In 1985-87, none of these were websites, they were only domain names. The first actual website was put up in 1991, but web sites did not really become popular til 93 and afterward.

This is a neat list, but it's been floating around the Internet or many years. I also agree with others in that this should say Top 100 Domain Names, not Websites since the WWW wasn't around until 1989, which is after all these domains were even registered.

I've only done the first 50, but here are my results thus far:
1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, "14", 15, "17", 18, 19, "21", "22", "23", "25", 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, "32", "33", "35", "36", "39", "40", 42, "43", "44", "45", "47", and "49" will all load succesfully, and appear to be the real deal.
16, "34", "38", and 50 will not load.
4 might not be for the original domain name. It is for a community college.
"31" might not be the original domain name. It is for "Big Dog Motorcycles."
"46" might not be the original domain name. It is for an online travel site.
