You could just save it in a folder. Then create a new short cut to the win 7 calculator. Unselect the question about asking to run this program. Place the short cut in start menu and rename.

I can't get this thing to install at all. I could really use the programming features too. I'm on Vista Home Premium, and I took ownership of the two files and set full permissions. Yet when I try to rename them or replace them, I still get errors stating that I need permissions and that access is denied.

This calc.exe (version 6.1.6801) runs in my Vista x64.
But I capied the same files calc.* of Windows 7 version 6.1.7000, it can't be run.
I would like to copy the other programs like mspaint from Windows 7.

Copy the Program to another directory, e.g. C:\temp\ (a directory where you don't need to be admin to write files). Start "Calc" once and confirm that you don't want to be asked again. Close "Calc" and copy it back to wherever you want to finally keep it ("windows" or "program files"). It won't bother you again.

So, I installed it, but now, whenever I run calc.exe, it says that it is an unverified publisher and I have to say run on it. even if i uncheck the box that checks it at each start, i still have to do it.

Anyone know how to get around this?

Hey, for those that have not upgraded (or downgrade, whatever), you think that you could port this onto Windows XP. This is a really useful tool for people like students and teachers, and if someone could bring it down to XP level that would be great.
